To be of service to the general public
including its different segments and needs, many companies that operate charter bus in Singapore now want to regulate and facilitate a certain range of private
bus services.
- School Bus
To convey school staff and school children to
and from schools, an agreement is set for anyone who hires the services of a
school bus. On the other hand, if a school bus has a permit of AWC or adult
worker’s contract, it may be used to convey adult workers to and from their
place of work. It can be used for the mentioned purposes but never as tourist
service vehicle.
A chartered bus like a school service can be
registered under an individual or under a company.
- Private Bus
The main use of the private chartered bus in
Singapore is meant for the ferrying of the employees of company owner or people
linked to the business at no profit. Before anyone operates in this manner,
keep in mind that the registration must reflect the company name.
- Private Hire Bus
Hire a private bus and use it to ferry adult
employees between their home and work. It is also allowed to be chartered for
different purposes.
The school and school children can use it as
well to and from schools. A 50% rebate on road tax will be enjoyed by the bus
owner if the bus is sufficiently used to ferry schoolchildren.
This private hire bus can be registered under
an individual or under a company.
- Excursion Bus
Excursion bus, based on the term itself, is
used to carry travellers or tourists to their destinations. It can also be used
whenever there is an unscheduled service wherein different individuals are
charged distinct and separate fares. It can also be used to ferry adult workers
and students between their home and work area or school. It is also allowed to
be chartered for different purposes.
A 50% rebate on road tax will be enjoyed by
the bus owner if the bus is sufficiently used to ferry schoolchildren.
This excursion bus can be registered under a
company.
- Asean Member Country-Registered Bus
Entering Singapore through ASEAN member
country-registered buses requires bus owners to apply for a Public Service
Vehicle Permit to LTA at least seven days before the vehicle is brought into
the country. The permit fee is charged per month or part thereof.
The application for a permit is the same if
the vehicle will be used to operate a scheduled bus service into Singapore.
In case you represent your own group and is
clueless as to how to hire a private bus for your weekend or weekly getaway,
booking a sightseeing bus tour, a coach trip, or a minibus excursion, all you
have to do is visit the website of the bus company and look for their contact
information that may include email address and mobile number. Some bus company
show their rates on the web page itself for a hassle free inquiry.
